Constructed as a private residence around 1890, it was founded as a funeral home 58 years later, in 1948, by Robert Pichi. Mr. Pichi’s business partner was Paul Mallon. Later, Mr. Mallon and Harry Metzler operated the funeral home. In 1973, Mr. Meltzer sold the funeral home to Henry Scala.
In keeping with the tradition of the Victorian home, Mr. Scala oversaw an addition to the funeral home. Along with the original woodwork and a beautiful stained-glass window, Mr. Scala had decorated the 19th century home with antique pieces that compliment the Victorian Era.
Many of the side rooms provide ample space for private family meetings.
The Maguire-Scala Memorial Home provides traditional funerals with viewings and religious services for every faith, as well as cremation services with or without viewings.
